Theatre Projects
“Pushkin Hills”, 2018
Solo Perfomance
Based on Sergei Dovlatov’s novel
Dovlatov’s character - a soviet writer, a dissident, fighting (or not really) with his alcoholism while becoming a tour guide in famous Pushkin Hills, a place where the poet spent years in exile. Spectator slowly realises that the man in front of them is trying to run away from himself, his wife (willing to leave the USSR and escape to America), his guilt, soviet government and KGB. It’s a complex story about being a writer in dictatorship, seeking for freedom that you have never known
The Voice, 2019
Experimental play on teenager’s fears and secrets.
17-year old Sasha survived a terrorist attack in Moscow’s underground. Now she needs to come back to life fighting with fear and panic attacks. Three new friends will suddenly become the support she needed, while she will be saving them not even realising it
Since it so difficult to explain what a theatre piece looks like - you need to experience it in person — the only thing that is left for me as a director is showing you some old videos, hoping you will get a sense of what it felt like to be in that audience
